Alleviating Hardships Facing SMEs
PPS hosted a meeting with the Korea Federation of SMEs(KBIZ)
to gather insights and complaints from SMEs
□ PPS is to strengthen communications with SMEs to resolves issues confronting them including cumbersome regulations
□ The central procurer held a meeting with KBIZ which was attended by SME representatives including KBIZ Chairman Kim Ki-mun on July 12th, 2022.
▶ PPS Administrator Lee Jong-wook(third from the left) stressed that PPS would actively eliminate cumbersome regulations and practices in public procurement at the session.
□ Participating SME representatives requested for adjustment of unit price levels, extension of delivery periods for products with supply issues including semiconductors and alleviation of the quality assessment standards.
□ Administrator Lee said, “PPS will endeavor to reflect the recommendations from the SME representatives in procurement administration.” He also added, “The central procurement agency will do away with unnecessary regulations and practices through seamless communications with small and medium-sized suppliers.”
□ PPS will continue having meetings with businesses hit hard by Covid-19 and disruptions of global supply chains. And it will strive to actively collect and reflect their opinions in procurement policies.
