SMEs’ Innovative Products Expected to Make Inroads into Overseas Power Plant Construction

Mutual Cooperation between PPS and KHNP to make SMEs’ Innovative Products join overseas markets.

□ The Public Procurement Service(PPS) and the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd.(KHNP) plan to expand mutual cooperation to ensure more of SMEs’ inventive products can enter overseas markets with greater sales channels. 

▶ The signing ceremony for the MoU between PPS and KHNP was held at KINTEX where the Korea Public Procurement Expo 2022 took place.

○ KHNP provides SMEs with an opportunity where the quality of their inventive products fit for foreign power plants under construction can be demonstrated and assists those products in making inroads into foreign markets by supporting them to join overseas exhibitions.

○ PPS provides preference to qualified and registered SMEs that are managed by KHNP with their products evaluated, when those manufacturers join the PPS-led project where SMEs get assistance in exporting their products.

- Against this backdrop, the PPS-KHNP MoU was concluded to facilitate the export of SMEs’ inventive products

□ PPS Administrator Kim Chung-woo said, “SMEs with outstanding technologies are expected to make big strides into overseas markets by taking full advantage of the PPS-KHNP cooperation.”
